Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3 very ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional Add-Ins:

  • Chopped nuts walnuts or pecans
  • Shredded coconut
  • Dark chocolate chunks
  • Sea salt for topping

Instructions
 

  • 1️⃣ Preheat & Prep – Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  • 2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients – In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  • 3️⃣ Mash & Mix Wet Ingredients – In a large bowl, mash bananas until smooth. Add melted butter, both sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until glossy and well combined.
  • 4️⃣ Combine – Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Overmixing = dense bars! Fold in most chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  • 5️⃣ Bake – Pour batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • 6️⃣ Cool & Serve – Let bars cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out using parchment paper and cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Tropical Twist: Add 1/2 cup dried pineapple + toasted coconut + white chocolate chips.
  • Nutella Swirl: Swirl in 1/4 cup Nutella, add hazelnuts, and drizzle with extra Nutella after baking.
  • Breakfast-Inspired: Add 1/2 cup rolled oats + granola + dark chocolate chips.
  • Salted Caramel Dream: Drizzle with caramel sauce + flaky sea salt + milk chocolate chips.
  • Protein-Packed: Add 1 scoop vanilla protein powder + chia seeds + sugar-free chocolate chips.
