For the Sandwich: 1 large Muffuletta round bread 10-12 inches, sesame-topped ¼ lb Genoa salami ¼ lb mortadella ¼ lb ham ¼ lb capicola ¼ lb provolone cheese For the Olive Salad: ½ cup green olives chopped ½ cup Kalamata olives chopped ¼ cup pickled vegetables chopped ¼ cup olive oil 1 garlic clove minced 1 tbsp pepperoncini chopped 1 tsp dried oregano 1 tsp red wine vinegar
Layer the Ingredients: Spread ½ of the olive salad on the bottom half.
Add cheese first, then layer meats evenly.
Top with the remaining olive salad.
Press & Rest the Sandwich: Place the top half of the bread back on.
Wrap the sandwich tightly in plastic wrap.
Press with a heavy skillet and let sit for 30-60 minutes.
Olive salad improves with time , so prep it ahead.
Use crusty bread to prevent sogginess.
