Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Mixture

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp ranch seasoning mix store-bought or homemade
  • 8 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill or 1 tsp dried

For Homemade Ranch Seasoning (Optional)

  • 2 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 tbsp dried dill
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp dried chives
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

For Serving

  • 8 brioche buns or any sturdy rolls
  • Sliced cheddar cheese optional
  • Fresh toppings: lettuce tomato slices, red onion, avocado

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare Ingredients

  • If making homemade ranch seasoning, mix all ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Cook bacon until crispy, then crumble.
  • Allow cream cheese to soften at room temperature.

Step 2: Layer Ingredients in Slow Cooker

  • Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle with ranch seasoning.
  • Cut cream cheese into cubes and scatter over the chicken.
  • Add crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, and fresh dill.
  • Pour chicken broth around the edges.

Step 3: Cook & Shred Chicken

  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours until chicken shreds easily.
  • Shred chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks.
  • Let shredded chicken simmer in the sauce for 15-20 minutes.

Step 4: Assemble Sandwiches

  • Toast buns lightly.
  • Pile chicken mixture onto buns.
  • Add cheese and fresh toppings.
  • Serve immediately!

Notes

  • To thicken sauce: Leave slow cooker lid off for the last 15 minutes or stir in an extra 2 oz cream cheese.
  • Storage: Keep chicken mixture in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Reheating: Add a splash of broth and warm over low heat or in the microwave at 50% power.
  • Freezing: Store in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight before reheating.
