Delicious Chocolate Sourdough Bread Recipe at Home
A rich and indulgent twist on classic sourdough! This bread combines the tangy flavor of sourdough with deep chocolatey goodness, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Instructions
Mix Dough: In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, warm water, cocoa powder, honey (or sugar), and olive oil. Stir until well combined.
Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a sticky dough forms.
Knead: Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Gently fold in chocolate chunks (and optional add-ins) during the final kneads.
First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise at room temperature for 4-6 hours or overnight in the fridge.
Shape: Punch down the dough and shape it into a round or oblong loaf. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a greased loaf pan.
Second Rise: Cover and let the loaf rise for 1-2 hours, or until it puffs up slightly.
Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is firm and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
Cool: Let the bread cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
For extra decadence, sprinkle the top with coarse sugar before baking.
Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
