- 3 cups 375g all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ teaspoons 10g baking powder
- 1 teaspoon 6g baking soda
- ½ teaspoon coarse kosher salt
- 2 sticks 226g unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups 300g granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- ½ tablespoon 12g vanilla bean paste
- 1 cup 240ml buttermilk
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch cake pans.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
Stir in vanilla bean paste.
Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk, starting and ending with dry.
Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 33-35 minutes.
Cool cakes for 20 minutes before removing from pans.
