Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 4 tbsp butter softened
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¾ cup shredded mozzarella
  • ¾ cup shredded provolone
  • 16 slices pepperoni
  • 4 tbsp pizza sauce
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan
  • Pinch red pepper flakes optional

Instructions
 

  • Garlic Butter: Mix butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Spread on one side of each bread slice.
  • Layer: On unbuttered side, add mozzarella, 8 pepperoni slices, 2 tbsp pizza sauce, provolone, and Parmesan. Top with second bread slice (buttered side out).
  • Cook: Heat skillet over medium-low. Cook sandwiches 3-4 mins per side until golden. Press gently with spatula.
  • Serve: Slice diagonally. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes. Dip in warmed pizza sauce!

Notes

  • Crispy Pepperoni: Microwave slices 15 sec first to reduce grease
  • Gluten-Free: Use GF bread + check sauce ingredients
  • Spicy Kick: Add pickled jalapeños or hot honey
  • Kid-Friendly: Swap pepperoni for cooked sausage crumbles
