  • Liquid smoke as needed
  • Brown sugar as needed
  • Minced onion as needed
  • Garlic powder as needed
  • BBQ sauce as needed

Other:

  • All-purpose flour as needed
  • Olive oil as needed
  • Butter as needed
  • Beef stock as needed
  • Carrots as needed
  • Celery as needed

Instructions
 

  • Season the Ribs:
  • Mix spices (brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, cumin). Rub evenly over the ribs.
  • Sear the Meat:
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large Dutch oven. Sear ribs on all sides (2-3 minutes per side).
  • Prepare the Sauce:
  • Combine ketchup, liquid smoke, brown sugar, minced onion, garlic powder, and BBQ sauce in a bowl.
  • Cook (Oven Method):
  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Pour sauce over seared ribs. Cover with a lid and bake for 2.5 hours. Baste every 30 minutes.
  • Optional Slow Cooker Method:
  • Place seared ribs in the slow cooker. Cover with sauce and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Finish and Rest:
  • Let ribs rest for 10-15 minutes before serving to retain juices.
