Instructions
Prepare the Ground Beef:
Heat a skillet over medium heat.
Add ground beef and break it apart as it cooks.
Season with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Cook until browned and fully cooked (internal temp of 160°F). Drain excess grease.
Assemble the Sandwich:
Butter one side of each bread slice.
Place one slice butter-side down in a cold skillet.
Layer half of the cheese, then the cooked ground beef, then the remaining cheese.
Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
Grill to Perfection:
Heat the skillet over medium-low heat.
Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Flip carefully and cook until the cheese is fully melted.
Serve & Enjoy:
Let the sandwich rest for 1-2 minutes before slicing.
Pair with tomato soup, pickles, or a simple green salad.
Notes
Prevent Sogginess: Drain beef well and toast the bread slightly before assembling.
Better Cheese Melting: Use grated cheese for even melting and cover the skillet briefly.
Flipping Without Mess: Use a large spatula and flip quickly in one motion.
Storage: Best enjoyed fresh, but you can store the cooked beef filling in the fridge for 3 days. Reheat sandwiches in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes (avoid microwaving).
Variations: Try taco-seasoned beef, BBQ sauce, or Italian-inspired versions with marinara and mozzarella.
