Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl

Ingredients

For the Base:

  • 1 packet 0.13 oz unsweetened Kool Aid powder (any flavor)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream 36-40% fat content
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • teaspoon cream of tartar optional

For Garnish and Serving (Optional):

  • Fresh fruit berries, pineapple, mandarin oranges
  • Cookie pieces or graham crackers
  • Sprinkles or edible glitter
  • Extra Kool Aid powder for dusting

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare Your Equipment:

  • Chill the mixing bowl and beaters/whisk in the freezer for 15 minutes.

2️⃣ Whip the Base:

  • Pour cold heavy whipping cream into the chilled bowl.
  • Start beating on medium-low speed until it begins to thicken.
  • Add cream of tartar (if using) for stability.
  • Increase speed to medium, then gradually add powdered sugar.

3️⃣ Add the Kool Aid:

  • Once soft peaks form, sprinkle in Kool Aid powder.
  • Continue whipping on medium-high until stiff peaks form.
  • Be careful not to overbeat (stop when peaks stand up with a slight curl).

4️⃣ Serve & Enjoy:

  • Pipe or spoon into serving dishes.
  • Garnish with fruit, sprinkles, or extra Kool Aid powder.
  • Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for up to 4 hours.

Notes

Chilling the bowl & beaters helps cream whip faster.
Gradually adding sugar ensures smooth texture.
Overbeating can make it grainy—watch for firm but smooth peaks.
Experiment with flavors! Try layering multiple Kool Aid colors.
